The Winnipeg Jets have bolstered their roster through free agency well after the start of the 2018 - 2019 National Hockey League regular season.

According to a report from the Winnipeg Jets official website, the Jets organization has signed veteran center Logan Shaw to a brand new one year deal that will pay him a salary of $675,000 over the term of the contract. Given that this is a one year contract Shaw's cap hit will also be $675,000 at the National Hockey League level, however it's important to note that this is a two-way deal which could indicate that he will be spending a significant amount of time playing at the American Hockey League level.

Prior to being signed by the Jets on Sunday Shaw was playing in the American Hockey League with the San Diego Gulls. He has appeared in 7 games for that organization this season acquiring 2 goals and 3 assists for a total of 5 points and adding 6 penalty minutes on his way to a plus minus rating of 0 thus far. The Gulls are the American Hockey League affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks organization however and it's unclear at this time if he will remain on loan to that team or if he is expected to join the ranks of the Manitoba Moose, the organization that is the current AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.

Shaw last played at the National Hockey League level during the 2017 - 2018 NHL regular season, a seasonthat he began as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. Through 42 games with the Ducks that season he recorded 2 goals and 6 assists for a ttoal of 8 points while adding 4 penalty minutes on his way to a plus minus rating of -1. He then played an additional 30 games after joining the ranks of the Canadiens organization and there he recorded 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points over that stretch. Shaw was less disciplined wiht the Habs however acquiring 8 penalty minutes and a plus minus rating of -5 during his tenure with the Habs.

It's unclear how much play time he's expected to get with the Jets at the NHL level this season.
