The Toronto Maple Leafs will be playing against a familiar face tonight when they'll face the Colorado Avalanche. Goaltender Jonathan Bernier is expected to get the start for the Avalanche, and he will face a lot of his former teammates. Bernier played three full seasons with the Maple Leafs, before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks in the summer of 2016.

The 29-year old goaltender, drafted 11th overall by the Los Angeles Kings, was acquired via trade by the Maple Leafs in 2013. He had a really good first season with the Leafs, posting a record of 26-19-7 with a 2.70 goal-against average and a .922 save percentage. The following season, he posted a record of 21-28-7 with a 2.87 goal-against average and a .912 save percentage. His last season in Toronto was a really tough one, as he only won 12 of his 38 starts, posting a 2.88 goal-against average and a .908 save percentage. The Leafs traded him at the end of that season.

So far this season, Bernier has a record of 13-7-1 with a 2.61 goal-against average and a .919 save percentage. He his certainly a big part of the turnaround season the Avalanche have so far, as they are currently fifth in the Central division with a record of 26-16-3 after finishing dead last with a record of 22-56-4.

They have won their last nine games.

There's only one question left : does Jonathan Bernier knows who is Nelson Mandela?
