Report: JVR rips Leafs’ offence following loss to Flyers

“We’ve got to find ways to create havoc,” says the big man.

Following another game in which the Toronto Maple Leafs were badly outshot by their opponent, Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk took the opportunity to speak out against the team’s recent “patient approach”.

“I don’t think we spent enough time in the offensive end or created enough offensively,” said van Riemsdyk in assessing the team’s play. To his credit JVR is walking the talk, scoring the go-ahead goal for the Leafs in the second period. But when you’re outshot 38-20 as the Leafs were last night against the Philadelphia Flyers, it’s tough to win games.

“We’ve got to find ways to create some more havoc at their net… I think we can do some other things to be a little more dynamic offensively,” said JVR to reporters, clearly disappointed with his team’s effort.
