Report: Kadri out, Leafs shuffles lines for game against Caps

It looks all but certain that Toronto Maple Leafs centre Nazem Kadri will miss tonight’s game against the Washington Capitals tonight, after suffering a concussion in Tuesday evening’s loss to the St. Louis Blues.

While the Leafs confirmed that Kadri has a concussion, they haven’t confirmed his status one way or another for tonight’s game. All signs, including the team’s line rushes at practice this morning, seem to point to Kadri’s absence from the lineup.

With Kadri out of the lineup, the Leafs have a gaping hole at the centre ice position and lose a considerable amount of grit and toughness, as well.

Here’s how the Leafs skating in D.C. this morning and how they’re expected to line up this evening, as well:

It’ll be interesting to see how Nylander does in his shift over to the middle of the ice. Also worth pointing out that Gardiner and Zaitsev have been reunited and that the Muzzin and Dermott pairing will see some time together.

Big test tonight. Puck drop is 7pm tonight in Washington, D.C. Go, Leafs, go!
