Report: KHL star Ilya Mikheyev has narrowed his list to two NHL teams

The 24 year old sniper reportedly received interest from 30 of the NHL’s 31 teams.

Report: KHL star Ilya Mikheyev has narrowed his list to two NHL teams

According to multiple online reports, 24 year old KHL star Ilya Mikheyev is expected to sign an NHL contract with one of two teams: the Vegas Golden Knights or Toronto Maple Leafs.





When asked point blank by Russian language journal om1.ru, whether he's choosing Vegas or Toronto, Mikheyev was non-commital but seemed to acknowledge that those are the two teams currently still in the mix. Check out his translated response below:

Toronto or Vegas! There are really interesting clubs and offers, but now I don’t want to discuss them.

The 6 foot, 2 inch, 190 pound winger led Avagaard Omsk in scoring this season with 23 goals and 45 points in 62 regular season games with another 11 points in the Gargarin Cup Playoffs. Here's a little snippet of his talent:



For what it's worth, the only NHL team who did reportedly did NOT put in a call on Mikheyev were the Edmonton Oilers.
