Report: Knights are expected to trade D-man!

The Vegas Golden Knights loaded up on defense at the expansion draft, and the next step of the process might be completed this week.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Knights general manager George McPhee revealed that he expects to move one of his blue liner on the trade market before the start of the season.

The phone has been ringing in Vegas and McPhee could get a good return. It seems unlikely that they will trade their younger defenders in Shea Theodore, Griffin Reinhart, Nate Schmidt, Jon Merrill and Colin Miller because of their potential to develop.

But other names like Clayton Stoner, Derek Engelland, Jason Garrison and Luca Sbisa may be available.

One thing is certain: McPhee’s early season trade period is heating up.
