The Pittsburgh Penguins have one of the most well respected defensemen in the league in Kris Letang, and since Letang speaks French he is often in demand among the French media.

In a recent French language interview on morning show Salut, bonjour, Letang openly discussed his past injuries including the stroke he suffered back in 2014, but it was his description of an injury he suffered against the Arizona Coyotes that left a lasting impression.

Letang described how he quite literally had a bout of Amnesia over a five day stretch, and not only can he not remember the incident, but furthermore has no relocation of the events even days before and after the incident took place. He would also admit that he genuinely didn't believe that he was going to recover from that injury.

"I didn't think I would make it back from that one" said Letang.

Thankfully he was wrong and he was able to make it back and excel in the NHL, but it's a terrifying look at how devastating injuries in high impact sports like hockey can be, even if on the surface the player appears to be fine, and for Letang it's 5 days of his life that he has quite literally lost forever.
