Report: Leafs call up former first round draft pick for the first time this season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have made a significant call up and a curious one at that.

According to a report from TSN's James Mirtle the Leafs have called up their former 2013 first round draft pick Frederik Gauthier, also known as Freddie "The Goat" Gauthier, and he will be joining their National Hockey League roster.

The move is significant for two reasons, the first being that the development of a former first round draft choice is always a significant move, but the second is the fact that the Leafs currently don't have any room for forwards on their roster.

It will be interesting to see if there is an injury or perhaps even a a trade announced today that will help make some sense of this move from Toronto.
