Report: Major change in Sens' trade talks!
KeyStone Press

Many thought the Ottawa Senators' strategy would change once they landed forward Matt Duchene from the Colorado Avalanche and moved veteran Kyle Turris to the Nashville Predators in that recent blockbuster three-way trade.

However, the Canadian team was said to still out on the market, looking for another boost up front. Until now.

According to Ottawa Sun's Bruce Garrioch, Senators general manager Pierre Dorion’s plan has changed now that Bobby Ryan has returned to the lienup. The Sens are in no rush to make a move now as young call-up Chris DiDomenico has impressed management so far.

The Senators are currently in third place of the Atlantic Division with 21 points in 17 games. So unless they drop out of a playoff berth, a new plan is in motion and Dorion will likely wait until closer to the February trade deadline to add a forward.

This will leave some room to other rival clubs who are seeking the help of a top-nine forward up front. NHL insider Bob McKenzie revealed this week that demand exceeds supply on the market as the Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers are amongst the many teams looking to add a forward.
