The Edmonton Oilers received bad news in the offseason when it was announced that defnseman Andrej Sekera could miss six to nine months following an ACL injury.

However, TSN Insider Pierre LeBrun has revealed that the 31-year old blueliner could be back as soon as November or early December.

The Oilers have been needed some help of the back end and were said to be on the market to get a boost at the blueline, however, Sekera’s return could change their target on the market.

On a segment of Insider Trading, LeBrun mentioned that there could be a setback in Sekera’s recovery, but for now, things are looking up and he could be the boost they need sooner than later.

Sekera last played for Edmonton in Game 5 against the Anaheim Ducks in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The veteran had eight goals and 35 points in 80 regular-season games this season.
