The Detroit Red Wings' injury woes have plagued the 2016-2017 "Farewell Season at the Joe", and the team seemingly could not catch a break recently.

Thankfully, the Holiday season is coming early for head coach Jeff Blashill's troops, as many familiar faces are taking to the ice this morning for a practice at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay ahead of the Red Wings' matchup against the Lightning tonight.

Among those players, Justin Abdelkader and Andreas Athanasiou are both taking part in practice, while defenseman Brian Lashoff also laced up his skates after a scary incident yesterday in which he took a puck to the face and was helped off of the ice.

Moreover, Tomas Jurco is skating after battling the flu yesterday, and defenseman Brendan Smith joined his teammates minutes ago.

Who will feature in tonights lineup is anybody's guess for the time being, although we should have more to report for you shortly.

Stay tuned.
