Report: Maple Leafs acquire a new forward on Friday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have added a forward to their roster.

The Leafs have welcomed back forward Seth Griffith after having previously placed the forward on waivers earlier in the season according to a report from Sportsnet hockey insider Chris Johnston. 

The Panthers, who had previously acquired Griffith when the Leafs placed him on waivers, made the decision to waive Griffith when they needed to make roster space for players returning from injury allowing the Leafs to get him back. 

Johnston also added that since the Leafs were the only team to place a waiver claim for Griffith, they will be allowed to immediately send him down to the American Hockey League where he will suit up for the Marlies.
