Report: Max Domi to miss significant time after injuring his hand in a fight.
Keystone Press

A fight has cost Max Domi playing time this season, and it may be significant playing time by the sound of things.

Domi engaged in a brief but brutal fight with Calgary Flames forward Garnet Hathaway late last week and while it was clear that Domi had taken some damage in the fight, it wasn't until Tuesday that we discovered just how much damage.

While Domi's left eye was visibly busted open after the fight, the real damage was done to his hand, likely as a result of the wild haymakers being thrown between the two men. On Tuesday the Coyotes revealed that Domi required surgery to repair the damaged hand and would be out "indefinitely."

The official statement from the Coyotes:

Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that forward Max Domi had successful hand surgery today and will be out of the lineup indefinitely. The Coyotes expect Domi to make a full recovery and to return to the lineup later this season.
