This just in, multiple reports seem to indicated that Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid will make his preseason debut tonight against the Arizona Coyotes.

Check it out:

Here we go!!!

By all accounts McDavid has been “pushing the pace” in practice and appears ready for game action. That’s obviously great news for Oilers fans who were growing nervous about McDavid’s health following a knee injury.

McDavid, of course, tore a ligament in his left knee in the final regular season game of the 2018-19 season and has still not recovered fully. It was initially hoped that McDavid would be fully healthy for the beginning of training camp, but that date was pushed back to the start of the preseason. Now, it looks like McDavid may only get a couple exhibition games under his belt before things begin for real in October.

Any way you look at it though, an NHL with McDavid in it is a very good thing for the entire hockey world. Welcome back, Connor.
