Report: McPhee reveals plan to deal with goaltender injuries
KeyStone Press

The Vegas Golden Knights are off to one of the best starts to a season by an expansion team ever. Not only by an expansion team, but by any team.

Unfortunately, that historic start may finally come to an end as the team has been dealt a cruel hand - losing their first, second, and third-strong goaltenders all in the first month of play.

Marc-Andre Fleury suffered a concussion, recently acquired Malcolm Subban is dealing with a lower-body injury and so is Oscar Dansk.

NHL analysts expected George McPhee to deal for yet another goalie, but the general manager has spoken out on the topic.

It's been long-believed that McPhee isn't very interested in the success of this season. They have a large stock of draft picks, and in such a deep draft, the ideal scenario would be for them to draft high and fill the system with high-end prospects.

This could explain why he's not rushing to solve the goaltender issue.

Maxime Lagace, the fourth-stringer, is now the team's starting netminder. He's lost all three games he's started in, bringing the team's record from 8-1-0, to 8-4-0 within a week. He had never played in the NHL up to this point.

Looks like the Cinderella story is coming to an end.
