The Ottawa Senators recalled defenseman Ben Harpur from the Belleville Senators (AHL), the team announced on Friday.

According to Le Droit reporter Marc Brassard, this move is related to a possible injury to veteran defenseman Dion Phaneuf. Ottawa is already dealing with injuries to forwards Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris, and defenseman Mark Borowiecki is expected to be back soon, but won't be in the lineup against the Vegas Golden Knights  Saturday afternoon.

Harpur, 22, was drafted 108th overall by the Senators in 2013. He played 12 games in the NHL, registering only one assist. He didn't have a point in three games with the Belleville Senators.
