Well you can this latest story to the
Mike Babcock rumor pile.
It appears not all is well in Montreal and the focus has been primarily on their current head coach
Michel Therrien. According to multiple reports
Therrien refused to speak to the media on locker clean out day today and furthermore it was made clear to members of the Montreal press that he would not be speaking to them at any point prior to the end of this NHL season.
Some have speculated that despite the fact
Therrien is signed through the 2018-2019 season that his time with Montreal is already at an end. This of course lends itself to one of the hottest rumors in the NHL, the one suggesting that
Mike Babcock is highly interested in returning to Montreal as a head coach.
While simply not speaking to the media isn't enough to suggest a coach is going to be fired ,French radio host
Jean-Charles Lajoie reported on Thursday that
Therrien and Montreal star
Max Pacioretty were involved in an extremely heated verbal altercation after Game 6 of the series. As of this writing
Jean-Charles Lajoie remains the only source to have reported this story, obviously the Canadiens are being tight lipped on the subject.
It does seem rather strange for
Therrien to behave in this manner however as he is frequently involved in interview's and segments with the French language media in Montreal.
