Report: NHL experts rank Boeser as Calder favourite

The Canucks rookie is tearing up the preseason. How stoked are you for this kid?

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is one of the hottest prospects in hockey. The 20-year-old native of Burnsville, Minnesota has torn up the preseason so far and is tied for the league scoring lead with four goals and six points in just three games. The sky is the limit for this kid, but what’s a realistic expectation?

The panel at TSN seem to think that Boeser is a favourite to with the Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie in 2017-18. If he were to claim the award he’d be the first Canuck to do so since Pavel Bure in 1992. TSN analyst Craig Button went so far as to name Boeser as the top rookie on his rankings, ahead of top picks Nico Hischier and Nolan Patrick.
