Report: NHL forward will have hearing after monster hit on Henrik Lundqvist.

There's little surprise about this announcement.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has officially informed Dallas Stars forward Cody Eakin that he will have a hearing today, just hours after his huge hit on New York Rangers Star goaltender Henrik Lundvist.

During the match up between the two squads on Thursday Lundqvist made an attempt to play the puck in the back of his net and, with him slow to pass the puck, Eakin decided to plow through him in the back of the Rangers net. 

To make matters worse for Eakin, the video replay appears to show him driving his body upwards during the hit and that's likely to only add to the discipline he's likely to face from NHL Player Safety today.
