Report: NHL projecting massive revenues for the 2016-2017 season.

This is something you're going to want to remember if the National Hockey League tries another lockout in 2020 because they claim to be losing money, as they always seem to do.

According to a report from NHL.com's senior writer Dan Rosen he has been informed by National Hockey League commissioner Garfy Bettman that the league is on pace to make a whopping $4.5 billion this year. Considering the source is the league's commissioner and the comment was passed on to the NHL's top mouthpiece you can bet this is legit.

 It's a huge amount of money, and it's an indication of just how much the sport has grown on both sides of the border in recent years. It will also make it extremely difficult for the NHL to sell another lockout to their fans if they continue to pull in this kind of money each and every season, especially if they are adding expansion teams that pay massive fees to join the league.
