Report: Offer to buy NHL team doesn’t “cut the mustard”

It’s no secret that Carolina Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos has been trying to sell his team for some time. When news broke last month that Texas Rangers owner Chuck Greenberg had signed a letter of intent to purchase the Hurricanes for $500 million, it was thought that Karmanos may have finally met his successor. Now, however, the value of Greenberg’s offer is being questioned.
