Report: Oilers sign free agent forward to his first NHL contract.

The Edmonton Oilers have announced a contract signing.

According to the team's official website the organization has come to terms on a two-year entry level deal with free agent forward Joseph Gambardella. The 23-year-old Gambardella spent four season in college playing for UMass-Lowell.

In his most recent season Gambardella recorded 18 goals 34 assists for an impressive 52 points in just 41 games. The undrafted prospects contract will only kick in for the 2017-2018 season, and there has been no word yet on whether or not he is expected to play in the American Hockey Legue this season.
