Well that certainly didn't take long.

There was undeniable disappointment among the Vancouver Canucks fan base when it was announced that Troy Stecher had not made the initial roster, and instead would be sent down to the American Hockey League, but now he's going to get his shot.

According to a report from TSN's John Abbott, Stretcher will make his official Canucks debut, and his National Hockey League debut, when the Canucks take on the Ottawa Senators. Furthermore Abbott reports that Stretcher will be paired up with Alexander Edler this evening, what remains to be seen is how much use they get from head coach Willie Desjardins.

Certainly an additional reason for fans in Vancouver to tune in this evening.
