Report: Ovechkin is now tied with a NHL Legend!
Keystone Press

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin continues to put up strong numbers this season, like he's used to do since that start of his NHL career. In his team 3-1 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, Ovechkin scored a goal, his 15th of the season, but more importantly the 573rd of his career! With that goal, the Russian forward is now tied with New York Islanders Mike Bossy at the 21st rank for goals scored in NHL history.

Ovechkin, 32, was drafted first overall by the Capitals in 2004. In 945 games played in the NHL, he scored 573 goals and added 484 assists for 1057 points. He added 90 points in 97 playoff games.

He won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy six times, and a total of 14 individual NHL trophies.
