After winning his first game in a New York Rangers uniform, Ondrej Pavelec is poised to get a second straight start, when the Rangers visit the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

The 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes was a convincing one, to be sure, and was marked by Derek Stepan's first return to Madison Square Garden - and his former team and fans gave him a warm welcome.

Pavelec's 27 save performance earned him the opportunity to give his team another win. His numbers in his other starts aren't impressive, he has a 3.08 goals against average and 0.889 save percentage in 3 games. But Alain Vigneault has decided to ride the hot glove and take his chances with the former 41st overall pick in 2005.

Here's Pavelec speaking to the media in anticipation of his second consecutive start.

Henrik Lundqvist is 2-4-2 in 8 starts - with a mediocre 3.12 goals against average and 0.900 save percentage. So it's no surprise that Vigneault wants to take a look at Pavelec to see if he can get this team winning again.
