Report: Penguins make surprise free-agent signing

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Sam Miletic to a three-year, entry-level contract, on Monday.

Miletic is an undrafted free agent, who has been practicing with the team during training camp and played in two preseason games, scoring one goal Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

He also participated in the Penguin's rookie tournament and development camp over the summer.

Miletic led the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League with 37 goals last season. 

He became the third undrafted free agent the Penguins have signed out of training camp, along with netminder Alex D'Orio and forward Jordy Bellerive.
