After suffering an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to the Ottawa Senators in game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final, it was clear that the Pittsburgh Penguins dearly missed the play of forwards Patric Hornqvist, Bryan Rust and defenseman Justin Schultz. Well… more bad news Pens fans: it doesn’t appear any of the three will be action tomorrow night, either.

When asked by reporters today whether or not Hornqvist, Rust or Schultz would be in the lineup for game 4, Sullivan indicated that they’re listed as “not probable.” Not probable? Not good.

Hornqvist and Rust are just the kind of forwards that the Pens need to get through Ottawa’s stifling defensive system. They’re two gritty forwards who aren’t afraid to go to the net and dig pucks out of the corners. They each have underrated skill and finishing ability, as well. As for Schultz, he’s been the Pens go-to guy on the blue line in the absence of Kris Letang and Trevor Daley. However, with Daley now back in the lineup, maybe some of Shultz’s responsibility will be transferred back his way?
