Report: Players left in the dark by the NHL!

During the offseason, the National Hockey League introduced a new rule concerning the faceoffs. In the first preseason games between the Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils, and the contest between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators on Monday night, viewers saw a huge amount of penalty they had never seen before!

And you may think that fans were the only ones not aware of the change, but according to NHL Insider Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, they are not alone! According to Lavoie, who spoke on French radio 91,9 Sports, Thursday morning, the players were not aware of the change.

"The NHL did not send out any memo to inform the players of the faceoff rules changes," Lavoie commented, translated from French.

Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand fired shots at the NHL earlier this week for the changes, stating it was "a complete joke". Fans and NHL insiders are focusing on the change and the controversy surrounding it.

And we are only in the preseason! Let's see how it turns out as soon as the puck drops of the 2017-18 season!
