According to a report from Seattle’s King 5 News, prospective NHL owner David Bonderman recently spent the day in Seattle meeting with city council members to discuss a potential renovation to KeyArena for an NHL franchise.

Bonderman, who is valued at over $2.5 billion, has long show interest in acquiring an NHL franchise and has partnered with Seattle’s Oak View Group in an effort to pass a $564 million proposal to renovate KeyArena and bring a NHL franchise, expansion or otherwise, to the Emerald City.

While details of the group’s meetings were not made public, the Select Committee on Civic Arenas is scheduled to meet next week to discuss the status of negotiations between the city and the Oak View Group.
