The New York Rangers will be without one of their core players for at least the next few games.

A report from Rangers insider Larry Brooks of the New York Post has revealed that veteran defeseman Marc Staal has suffered some form of upper-body injury and as a result will miss both tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers' as well as Saturday's contest against the red hot Columbus Blue Jackets.

It's unclear how the Rangers plan to deal with the absence of one of their core defensemen, but Brooks has reported that Brady Skjei will move up the depth chart and will be paired with Ryan McDonagh at least for tonight.
