New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that forward David Desharnais will not be playing  tonight against the Ottawa Senators. Desharnais is not injured at the moment, so this move is a sign of insatisfaction in the way he plays.

Desharnais hasn't score a goal since October 19, and has only registered an assist in his last seven games. In 20 games played this season, the 31-year old forward has registered eight points.

The Laurier-Station, Quebec native was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Montreal Canadiens organization in 2008. Montreal traded him to the Edmonton Oilers on trade deadline day last season. He registered 262 points in 473 games played in the NHL, and added 17 points in 53 playoff games. The Rangers signed him as a free agent this summer.
