The New York Rangers don't have a great deal of flexibility this offseason but they are making the best of what they do have.
According to a report from Mark Diver of The Providence Journal the Rangers have signed former Calgary Flames draft pick John Gilmour, reportedly signing him to a two-year National Hockey League deal.
Gilmour like the much discussed Jimmy Vesey did not re-sign with the team that drafted him in the 7th round of the 2013 NHL draft, instead opting to become a free agent on August 15th before eventually landing in New York.
The 23 year old defenseman spent the last 4 seasons at Providence College appearing in 34 games last season and recording 9 goals and 14 assists over that stretch.
