Report: Rangers sign young center to very reasonable deal.
Keystone Press.

The New York Rangers made several trades over the last few seasons that cost them the ability to stockpile young talent and/or draft picks, but a few shrewd moves from their new general manager Jeff Gorton has done a great job of compensating for that.

After pulling off a blockbuster move to acquire highly sought after free agent Jimmy Vesey. the Rangers continued to add young talent to their line up on Thursday, this time reportedly signing forward Brandon Pirri.

While there has been no official report, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman is reporting that the contract is a one-year deal worth $1 million dollars, a very reasonable price for the Rangers.

This now gives the Rangers an influx of both youth, and forwards, and it would not be a surprise to see the Rangers deal from a position of strength to shore up their blue line at this point, although this is merely speculation.
