The Detroit Red Wings have began trimming their roster as the training camp and preseason games continue.

Amongst the 11 players sent back to their respective teams, Dominic Turgeon and goaltender Jake Paterson were relegated to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Defenseman Filip Hronek, featured in his first exhibition appearance last night against the Boston Bruins, is slated to return to Saginaw of the Ontario Hockey League.

Moreover, all seven players currently on tryout contracts will take part of the Griffins’ training camp which opens on Monday.
