Report: Red Wings grab former 2nd round pick off the waiver wire today.

The Detroit Red Wings have made an addition to their roster at someone else's expense.

According to a report from Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman the Detroit Red Wings have claimed 23 year old winger Martin Frk off of the waiver wire on Tuesday. Frk was waived after playing just two games with the Carolina Hurricanes this season where he recorded no points and had a plus minus rating of -3 over that stretch, the only NHL games of his career.

Frk is actually a former Red Wings draft pick, having been selected in the second round (49th overall) of the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The Red Wings during his tenure in their organization used him exclusively at the American Hockey League level, and it seems likely that will once again be the case after this move, at least initially.
