Report: Red Wings re-sign journeyman defenseman.
Keystone Press.

The Detroit Red Wings have reportedly made a minor move on Tuesday.

According to a report from TVA Sports' Renaud Lavoie, the Red Wings have made the decision to re-sign journeyman defenseman Brian Lashoff despite the fact that the 25 year old didn't play a single game for the Wings last season.

Lashoff spent all of last year in the american Hockey League with the Grand Rapids Griffings, appearing in 70 games for the team and recording 16 points over that stretch finishing with a plus minus of four on the season.

It's unclear if the Wings intend to call on Lashoff next season or if this is merely a depth signing designed to keep a player familiar with their system on the roster in case the need should arise.
