Report: Schwartz suffers significant injury off the heels of a big new contract.

The St. Blues signed former first round pick Jaden Schwartz to a big new deal this summer and they are off to a rocky start on that new deal.

According to a report from the Blues official social media, Schwartz has suffered a significant injury to his left elbow, and as a result will be out of action for at least one month.

The exact timetable for his return remains unclear despite the one month prognosis from the Blues, as they have admitted it's not a timeline for his return, but merely a timeline for when he will be re-evaluated by medical staff.

With this coming at the start of the regular season, and Schwartz being under contract for 5 years now it seems unlikely that St. Louis will rush him back.
