Report: Sedins' futures in Vancouver are uncertain

Benning made a pretty ominous comment this morning on-air.

Long-time Vancouver Canucks favourites Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin expressed on more than one occasion that they want to finish their careers in British Columbia, despite their age and the state of the rebuild they're currently in.

They've made it clear that they are loyal to the team and want to retire there. However, general manager Jim Benning made a comment on TSN Radio Vancouver this morning that left their statuses beyond this season up in the air.

The part about seeing where they end up at the end of this year is a very interesting and ominous comment - in no way does Benning imply that they will sign elsewhere, or get traded at any point, but he opened the door for speculation about whether or not that happens. Or - they may stay true to their word and retire as Canucks, after this season.

Irregardless of what happens, it will be a very interesting and curious situation to follow towards the end of the season.
