The Tampa Bay Lightning open up their 2017 Development Camp today in Brandon, Florida. Among the attendees will be the team’s brightest young stars including the 14th overall pick from last weekend’s NHL Entry Draft Cal Foote, along with Anthony Cirelli, Brett Howden and Taylor Raddysh. One big name prospect however, recently acquired defenseman Mikhail Sergachev, will not join the camp until at least Wednesday.

Sergachev has been travelling Europe since winning the Memorial Cup with the Windsor Spitfires earlier this month and in fact was in Cyprus when he received word of his trade from the Montreal Canadiens to the Lightning. It seems his vacation will run through Monday and Tuesday and, as such, won’t join his fellow prospects in Brandon until Wednesday at the earliest.

This means that Bolts fans, eager to watch the team’s brightest young star, will have to wait a little longer to see him in a Lightning uniform for the first time.
