Oilers and Rangers Were Also in the Mix to Acquire Him

The skilled Russian player Vladimir Tkachyov reportedly had an offer from the Blackhawks. It appears a few teams were in the mix to acquire him as earlier this season, KHL insider Alessandro SerenRosso, reported the 21 year old Left Winger Vladimir Tkachyov would be attending New York Rangers’ development camp this summer.

I had an offer from the Blackhawks but I preferred to stay in Kazan KHL,” said

The Edmonton Oilers were also in the mix as Tkachyov appeared in three preseason games for the Oilers prior to being “signed” and posted three assists and a plus three rating. The Oilers had announced that he had been signed to a three-year entry-level contract.

Hockey’s Future scouting report describes him as follows:

Although small, Tkachyov is a dynamic offensive talent. An explosive skater and a wizard with the puck, he is just beginning to scratch the surface of his immense potential. Oodles of skills and game-breaking ability, the outstanding question is whether he can round out his game and get stronger.

Tkachyov played 49 games with Vladivostok Admiral in the KHL last season. He scored 14 goals and registered 25 assists for a total of 39 points.
