He played professional hockey as an 18 year old!

After being selected 27th overall in the CHL Import Draft, It was announced that Kristian Reichel will play for the Red Deer Rebels next season in the WHL. Reichel is the son of former European NHL player Robert Reichel. Robert spent his NHL career with the Calgary Flames, New York Islanders and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played in 830 NHL games and recorded 252 goals and 378 assists.

His son Kristian spent last season playing professionally in Czech Republic with HC Litvinov and had 2 goals and 6 assists in 41 games. Not too bad for an 18 year old! Reichel went undrafted in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft but is hoping that an opportunity with the Red Deer Rebels can provide him with the chance to do big things in North America.
