REPORT: Star Player Injury Update
Keystone Press

Not only was Trevor van Riemsdyk of the Chicago Blackhawks placed on the trading block last week he also sustained an injury to his upper body which caused him to leave the ice early during the game versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.

TVR ended up showing up to practice with the team the next day but he did not hit the ice and he had his arm in a sling the whole time.

It was announced this weekend that he would be missing in action for at least 5-6 weeks, which is truly unfortunate for the star player who hit the ice for all 82 games last season with the Blackhawks.

TVR will be missing for tonight's game along side healthy scratches Vincent Hinostroza and Michal Kempny.

Hopefully things turn around for van Riemsdyk as the start of the 2016-2017 NHL regular season as been shaky for the young defensemen.

Watch tonight as the Chicago Blackhawks face off against the Calgary Flames at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
