REPORT: Star Player Injury Update
The Star

Marian Hossa of the Chicago Blackhawks scored his 500th NHL career goal last Tuesday during the 7-4 defeat of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Unfortunately, Hossa sustained a lower body injury and left the ice late in the third period of last Tuesday's match.

Coach Q stated during the week that Hossa is "day to day" and is hopeful he can play this Friday if not it would have to be Saturday versus the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Today it was officially confirmed that Hossa would not be hitting the ice due to his lower body injury and no comments as to whether or not he will actually be able to play tomorrow.

The Blackhawks have a pretty solid offensive unit this season and even without Hossa they managed to score over 12 goals in the past two game alone.

Blackhawks fans need not worry about tonight's match without Hossa, the team is better off leaving him to rest so that when it comes time to take on Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs Hossa can aim for his 501st career goal.

Support the Blackhawks tonight as they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Nationwide Arena at 7:00 p.m. (ET).
