The Winnipeg Jets are trying to get back on track after taking two rough defeats at the start of the season, finally getting their first victory, against the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

However, some Jets players thought the trip out West could bring them more than just success. It has been revealed that two injured players enjoyed a short vacation during the trip, that keeps going as Winnipeg faces the Vancouver Canucks tonight.

Dustin Byfuglien remains sidelined with a lower-body injury and his “soft-tissue issue” will force him to miss a second consecutive game tonight, however, it did not prevent him from enjoying time off this ice, as he went fishing along with Matt Hendricks, who suffers from foot injury he suffered in a pre-season game.

Both players went sturgeon fishing in British Columbia and were able to land a big one.

While fans will love to react to this Picture and the players' décision to take the Day off and go fishing, coach Paul Maurice had no problem with it.

“No issue at all. Just a little bit jealous," Maurice told the Winnipeg Sun. "We get four mandatory days off a month and I like it when they (occur) on the road because (players) get to spend some time together. It’s great early in the season. Outstanding.”
