Report: Steven Stamkos out with an injury.

It appears that the Tampa Bay Lightning captain is dealing with an injury serious enough to force him to miss his very first game of the NHL season. In fact it's the first game he's missed due to injury since the 2013-2014 season when he broke his leg.

According to a report from Tampa Bay Lightning beat reporter Joe Smith, Stamkos is out with some kind of upper-body injury. When Smith inquired as to what could be ailing Stamkos no details were provided therefore we are left to speculate on what his injury might be.

Stamkos' absence comes fresh of the heels of comments he made throwing certain members of his team under the bus, referring to them as "passengers" while also criticizing their level of effort in recent games.
