The fight against racism has begun to ingrain itself into sports life, and fans are none too happy about it. Nonetheless, the issue persists, and now NHL players are being asked about their opinion on the matter, and whether or not they will participate in demonstrations of protest during the US anthem.

Joel Ward recently sounded off on the issue, and did not rule out the possibility of him taking a knee during the anthem.

As the most prominent black player in the NHL, people wondered how P.K. Subban felt about this issue, and now we have an answer.

Subban is Canadian, to be sure, but he expresses his appreciation for the US flag every game night, singing along to the anthem. Greg Wyshynski of Yahoo Sports reported that the star defenceman spoke out on the issue at a comedy fundraiser in Nashville, saying that he refuses to take a knee or demonstrate any kind of protest against the US flag.

The Pittsburgh Penguins already suffered a lot of backlash for their comments on the issue – will P.K. face similar criticism?
