For awhile now, William Nylander and Mitch Marner have been criticized for their respective performances this year - with both seemingly going through the famous 'sophomore slump'.

That seems to be history, as both are on pace for excellent seasons once again.

Marner posted 61 points in 77 games last season, while Nylander had the same total in 81 contests. Their respective point paces are slight drops over last season, but it's so minimal that not only could you not call them sophomore slumps, but you should be describing their production as top tier.

Neither player is anywhere close to on pace to match their respective goal totals from last season, but they've made up for that in their playmaking abilities - boosting their teammates' goal totals in the process.

Marner and Nylander have become important offensive factors over the last stretch once again, and they'll continue to be relied upon as the season enters it's second, most demanding half.
