What would like first, Wings fans; the good or the bad news first?

Andreas Athanasiou and the Detroit Red Wings have had positive talks with the intent to agree on a contract, according to the Detroit Free Press.

"I can say that we are having productive discussions at this point that are a positive indication of the mutual desire to come to an agreement. I'm not saying we are anywhere near a decision or a deal but it's positive," agent Darren Ferris told the Free Press.

The 23-year-old had threatened to take his talents to the KHL as used it as leverage in the negotiations. Ferris addressed the rumors that his client could head to Russia soon.

"Things can change in quick moment and AA could be headed overseas and then the Olympics," Ferris said.

Athanasiou played in 64 games and scored 18 goals while recording 11 assists for a total of 29 points.

What will happen in this saga and where will he end up?
