Report: Top-4 Cup champion D-men hit the trade market!

The Los Angeles Kings are off to a great start this season - hoping they will clinch a playoff spot for the just the second time since winning the Stanley Cup back in 2014. And to ensure they achieve this, the Kings are already pondering moves ahead of the Trade Deadline.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, Los Angeles is looking to make a trade down the road, to boost their scoring up front. The Kings might want to upgrade their top-9 group and LeBrun believes they are willing to shop defensemen Jake Muzzin and Alec Martinez

"It's not every Day that a top-4 defenseman, in season, is made available, and one that is not a rental player. Both of these guys have terms past this year, and yes this is something the Kings have discussed internally about doing later this season."

It will be interesting to see what the defenseman-craved NHL clubs might be willing to offer to land one of the defenders. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers are amongst teams seeking help on defense.

Several NHL clubs have been chasing the market to bolster up their blue line and the Kings could certainly get good returns.
