Report: Top prospect will play on the second line

The Winnipeg Jets recalled prospect Kyle Connor on Monday, after they placed forward Mathieu Perreault on the injury list for at least four weeks. Connor, 20, was drafted 17th overall by the Jets in 2015. Last season, in his first professional season, he registered five points in 20 games in the NHL, but showed great offensive potential in the AHL, as he registered 44 points (25 goals, 19 assists) in 52 games with the Manitoba Moose.

As NHL.com reported on Monday, Connor was placed on the wing with Bryan Little and Patrick Laine during Jets practice. This would mean that he will be given a really good opportunity to prove he can produce at the NHL level.

In four games in the AHL this season, Connor has scored three goals and added two assists.
